Celebrating Chuck Da Fonk's Birthday, New FSQ Music

Hi Everyone,

Hi it's your friend Chuck Da Fonk Fishman and for my birthday you're reading this email, thank you for making my birthday wish!

Welcome again to the FSQ newsletter + we appreciate your continued support for the FSQ music project where we produce and perform Funk, Style, Quality music across house, disco, and funk, releasing new music primarily on Soul Clap Records.

On that note, we have a new single called FEELING WIDE, coming out Thursday, October 16 on Soul Clap Records / EMPIRE Dance. I'll be brief, the song I feel like is a sonic achievement, one of my top 5 favorites we've ever produced. Mix and mastered by Joe Caserta, I also recommend checking out his Caserta's Feeling Dubbed Mix. Caserta achieved the Alex Sadkin sound I've been searching for, and if you know, you know.

PRE-ORDER for OCTOBER 16 on Bandcamp + Get / Listen to "Short Version" Now: https://fsqofficial.bandcamp.com/album/feeling-wide

JUST WANT TO STREAM? That's OK, Pre-Save + Keep this LINK: https://music.empi.re/feelingwide

MORE ABOUT FEELING WIDE:

“Feeling Wide” is an expansive new wave funk jam that evokes 1980s New York City downtown disco. An original from the mind of FSQ’s Chuck Da Fonk, it’s a song about self-deprecation with lines like “I can’t get out of my own way, I’m feeling wide today. Walking down the street, I can’t get around myself” as if to say we are our own worst enemies. The sentiment of the song is brought to life by the layered vocals and sassy delivery from MoFunk Records star Moniquea.

While “Feeling Wide” might have a somewhat cutting attitude, the song is both funky and fun - and it really opens when its punchy bridge hits with heavy percussion and thick layers of synths, including a solo from XL Middleton. The track features members of FSQ including One Era (Matt Coogan) and Tate Masimore on multi-instrumentalist duties, and G Koop turning in a ukulele performance. Art work by Noah Prebish for Unknown Pleathers.
